A worm slithers across the dirt
Expanding and contracting his body
First one way and then another
With no apparent direction in mind
Oblivious to the world
What is he thinking?
What force propels him?
Is he on a journey?
Or just taking one day at a time
What can I learn from the worm?
What is the importance of having a direction?
Should I be oblivious to the world?
And just take one moment at a time
The importance of the worm is that he is moving
Yes, he doesn't have it all mapped out
Doesn't know if he will be stepped on
Drown in a rainstorm
Or eaten by a bird
But he keeps moving
Offering his gifts to the world
Using the strengths he has been given
And trusting a force greater than himself
That he is on a path and it will be revealed
His job is to just keep moving
And to enjoy life moment to moment
I found you through a goggle search for "stepping into the light." I was looking for a quote to go with a painting for a post. I hope you don't mind that I am borrowing part of your Alice Peacock quote. :)
I went to her site and I liked the words in her music. So I thank you for the quote and for introducing me to her music.
I will be back to visit because I liked the positive attitude here.
